November 2008:
Good Vibrations introduce Shawnika our new Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage therapist.
Shawnika studied Swedish Massage at the City of Bristol College. She also studied Sports Therapy at Gloucestershire University. Shawnika has also studied Sports Development and Fitness, Nutrition, and Sports Massage.
Swedish Massage is the technique of applying oil or cream onto the skin and working it smoothly and slowly over the muscles, increasing blood circulation and releasing toxic waste from the body.
Deep Tissue Massage releases built up tension and stiffness using oil and rapid movements, particularly of the forearm, elbow and wrist. This massage is for professional and amateur athletes or anyone seeking total relaxation. Blood circulation is increased and toxic waste is released from the body.
Carole Hallam of Good Vibrations said; " We are delighted to welcome Shawnika to our growing team of therapists. She adds another new dimension to our massage treatments which already include Thai Massage, Hot Stone and Indian Head Massage."
For more information on how Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage treatments may help you or anyone you know, please call us on Bristol (0117) 944 6650 or use our Contact Us form.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Pin back Your Ears - Good Vibrations now provide Accupuncture treatments!
Good Vibrations are delighted to welcome Brendagh O’Sullivan and her acupuncture skills to the range of facilities available at our Redland Studio.
Brendagh has 20 years of experience in acupuncture, working in and around the Bristol area. Having trained at Reading and Leamington Spa, she is able to combine TCM and 5 Element styles to treat a wide variety of conditions.
Acupuncture is particularly useful for some of the health issues not amenable to western medicine eg: digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome and arthritis and back ache.
Brendagh also successfully worked with fertility issues (both male and female), offering IVF support, and regularly treats menopausal and other gynaecological problems.
On a lighter note, she also offers Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture. This is a treatment to enhance the clarity and natural radiance of the complexion using electro-acupuncture and massage.

Hair Salon Opens within Good Vibrations Bristol
Good Vibrations are delighted to announce that they have been joined by Becky who has just opened her hairdressing salon ‘Rebecca’ within the Good Vibrations Health and Wellbeing Studio in Redland, Bristol.
Becky has worked within a successful salon in Redland for the last 4 years and specialises in colouring, cutting, party hair and wedding hair. She also trained as a mens barber and is welcoming customers old and new to the chic new studios on Kellaway Avenue, Redland, Bristol.
Rebecca’s will be open 7 days a week as Becky appreciates that busy professional people need to make full use of their weekends, though Sundays will be by appointment only. Becky is already seeing several clients on Sundays – ladies who are taking some “me” time out of the weekend and enjoying a relaxing session as well as a coffee and a friendly chat.
The salon's normal opening hours are 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday. Sundays are by appointment.
Rebecca uses a range of leading products from Loreal, Redken and Tigi.
Becky recently attended a peak performance course in London hosted by Andrew Barton of “Ten Years Younger” fame. Becky says she learned a lot from Andrew on how to style ladies' hair to make them look more youthful with a cut and colour to suit the bone structure of the face.
As a special launch promotion with Good Vibrations Rebecca is offering 25% off any hairdressing service for the first 25 clients.
The new salon is child friendly and after you have had your hair done you can take advantage of a host of other beauty and wellbeing treatments at the Good Vibrations Studio.
September 2008 Good Vibrations add Authentic Thai Massage Services to its Treatments
Thai massage is a type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. It is known in Thailand as ‘the ancient-manner massage‘. Thai massage originated in India and is believed to have come to Thailand over 2000 years ago.
Nok (whose name means ‘little bird’) has recently joined us at Good Vibrations and has become a firm favourite with her clients.
Thai massage enables tight areas to be relaxed and stretched back into their normal natural state. Deep stress patterns can be unlocked with these techniques.
Depending on your personal preference the intensity of the massage can be varied. Nok, will discuss your general health condition, and whether there are any specific problems or painful areas that need attention.
Carole Hallam, one of the founders of Good Vibrations said ‘We are thrilled to have Nok with us - she has worked on my frozen shoulder and her treatment help considerably’
